"Now we're ready to start talking about the size that we're going to make it. My friend wants me to make it out of this fabric the same size as this one. This one is 17 inches by 13 inches. Let's measure and let's see what it looks like to make sure. Yes, that ones turned out to be 17 inches. This one is about a half an inch short, but I'm going to go ahead and make it 13 inches because that's what she wanted. I know I need a seam right here, so instead of just 17 inches, I want to add half an inch on both sides to make this 18 inches. 18 inches all the way. Then this one is 13 inches. Instead of just a half an inch seam allowance, I'm going to add a 2 inch seam allowance. I want to do that for the front and for the back. I'm going to show you why we do that in the next clip. For now, we know that we're going to need 18 inches wide and then we're going to need 15 inches plus 15 inches, 30 inches long. That's the piece of fabric that we're going to cut out. Let me tell you how we're going to do the extra length in the next clip."
