"My name is Leslie Moselle and I am from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village this is how to shop for groceries on a budget. Sealed bags and containers. When shopping on a budget, you want to get the most out of your food. You don't want to only be able to enjoy half of your item and then have to throw the rest in the garbage when it goes bad. So the best way to make sure you are getting use out of all the products you buy is the seal them properly. We do have a traditional chip clips and little magnetic clips that you use to seal your foods like your rices and your chips but this isn't always the greatest method. As you can see, it really doesn't provide that much of a seal for your foods. So, you can probably get down to half, maybe three quarters of the way in this bag and the rest of your chips are going to go steal. So, the best way to get the most out of your money is to properly seal your items. As you can see here with these gold fish, the bag that it comes in, isn't properly sealing the food, this lets a lot of air in and they are going to go steal. So what I like to do is just use your traditional zip-lock bags. This keeps your items fresh, you can enjoy all of it, you can put the whole item actually in this zip-lock bag. They sell heavy duty one gallon bags for this purpose. I put my sugar in here, this keeps bugs from getting in, this keeps you know the sugar fresh and I have the pretzels in these plastic containers, you don't always have to use the zip-lock bags. You can actually purchase you know, plastic containers that can be reused over and over and over again. This will keep my pretzels fresh, they are nicely, tightly sealed and you can also use your cookie jar. Your cookie jar is a great way and they make cookie jars for a purpose and most people don't even use them anymore, but whether you are using a Tupperware, zip-lock bags, or cookie jars, this keeps your food sealed and protected longer and they are going to stay fresh longer and you are going to get your money's worth of your budgeting shopping."
