"My name is Leslie Moselle, and I'm from Tampa Florida, and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to shop for groceries on a budget. Non-perishable items; non-perishable items are a great way to save money when shopping on a budget. Say you do your major shoppings once a month, at this time would be a great time to go ahead and buy your non-perishable items like your canned soups, your canned tunas, peanut butter. These are all non-perishable items that if there was no power, no refrigerator, no stove top, you would be able to consume these foods. Non-perishable items are great to be purchased say once a month. Perishable items such as vegetables, fruits, eggs, milk, those are items that you want to purchase less often because you don't want them to go bad. Usually if they are left in the refrigerator too long, although they are refrigerated, they are going to expire a lot sooner than of course the non-perishable items. So those are things that you can probably purchase bi-weekly and these items you can purchase monthly. Non-perishable items are great for those extreme weather conditions when you're not going to have the use of your refrigerator, but you are going to have food that you can eat. So a great way to go ahead and save money when shopping on a budget are to buy these items because they're most likely not going to be thrown away, they're not going to expire, and they're not going to go to waste.
