"My name is Leslie Moselle, and I'm from Tampa Florida, and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to shop for groceries on a budget. Buying generic brands. When shopping on a budget, buying generic brands is a great idea. A lot of people have a fear when buying generic brands that they're not going to live up to their big time labels. But, buying generic brands usually gives you more for your money. As you can see here there are many items that can be bought generic, that are just as good as the big time labels. This ice tea, this ice tea you could probably make a few gallons compared to the Crystal Light brand where you might not be able to make as much. The vegetable oil here, the generic brand is just as good as this big time label counter part. For these tuna cans, Starkist tuna can cost you anywhere from a dollar to a dollar fifty a can. But these generic brand Great Value brands actually only cost fifty cents a can. So you can buy two for the price of one. As you can see generic brands come for all types of items, you oatmeals, your cereals, and usually can cost up to almost half the price of the big time labels. So don't be afraid of generic brands. They taste just as good. If you have your favorites, then spend a little extra on your favorites. But for the things that really don't make much of a difference, buy the generic brands, and you can probably buy double as much as the groceries as you could if you're not buying the big time labels that are more money. So, don't be afraid of the generic labels, taste a few. If you don't like them then stick with what you like. But if you see that they cheaper ones are just as good then save yourself some money when shopping on a budget. "
