"Now, with the base we are going to fold each of the sections folded edge to the center. We are going to do this for all four sections. Same thing on the other side, fold each of the sections to the center. Turn the unit to the other side and do the same thing. This step helps to narrow the base of the flower, as well as to help lock our previous folds in place. Now, balance the unit by opening it to the middle section of this side and opening it to this side. And, that's enclosing the folds that we just made. And, do the same thing. Fold the sides into the center, sides into the center. Turn the unit to the other side and do the same thing. This is our fourth and final section. Now, here comes the fun part of opening the flower. Holding it so that the base is on bottom and the open part is on top, we are going to fold each of the petals down as far as it will comfortably go to the base of these triangles. Fold it down and the other side fold down. Open it to these other two petals and fold down and fold down. And, then let the petals unfold and you have your traditional Iris. Now, you can take a pencil and either curl the petals out or curl them in like this. And, you will have variations on your Iris."
