on 3/5/2009 If you don't know what a frog base is, then you are not helping out at all. I am very new at this and was watching Emily doing it, she had the camera in front of her, the quality of the video was bad it was like doing mirror images and she did not explain very well. her hands were blocking what she was doing so you could not see what was going on.
Now with you, you have already started folding before you tell what you are doing. And the camera is not always on what you are doing - that is a minus when trying to see what you are doing. Will someone please get a good camera person and someone who knows that when you are trying to instruct a novice on how to do origami, that they start from the beginning?

"In this clip I will show you how to make a traditional iris. This is a fairly simple model if you know how to make a frog base. This is a frog base. So, starting with a frog base we are going to fold each of these triangles down, like this. We did it on this side, turn the unit over to the other side and fold down the triangle. Now, open it to the other two sections of the triangle. Open it to this side and then balance out the unit by doing the same thing on the other side so you have four sections on each side. Fold down the triangles again. Turn the unit to the other side and fold down those triangles. Now, with the open part pointed towards you, this will become, the top triangle will become the base of the flower. We are going to fold one, only one, of the sections to the left. Now, if we've done that with the top we have to do it with the bottom. Fold one of the sections to the right so we still have four sections on both sides. Remember, the open part is still pointed towards us."
