"In this clip I will show you how to fold a Semba Zuru. Semba Zuru means 1000 paper cranes. It is a Japanese tradition that if one folds 1000 paper cranes a wish will come true and it is common to see at a Japanese wedding, chains of 1000 cranes decorating the wedding. Semba Zuru was also one of the original Origami books ever published in Japan in 1797. In it the author showed how to fold a single crane as well as cranes that were connected together. In this clip I will show you how to fold a quartet of cranes. Now I won't go through the entire folding process but I will show you the various steps to take. With a large sheet of paper, you will divide each, the paper into four corners and with each corner fold the necessary creases for a preliminary base and depending on how you want the cranes to be connected, it is sort of like a puzzle. You will either have a center connecting point in which you will cut the paper from the outside in to the center and leaving that connection in the center or if you would like a ring of cranes you will cut from the inside out leaving the connections on the outside."
