"In this clip, I will show you how to make a bird base. A bird base begins with a preliminary base. So with a preliminary base already folded, we are going to place it so that the raw edge or the open edges are facing toward us. Taking the top section in this raw edge, we are going to fold this raw edge to align with the center crease, like this. Essentially, with the bird base we are making petal bases on both sides of the base. So right now, we are making our triangular guiding creases. So taking this raw edge of this top section, fold it to the center crease. Now take the triangle, fold it down. Open it back up to our preliminary base, and we have our triangular crease for our petal base, our petal fold. Open it; push the sides in following the creases that we had made. Flatten; a petal fold on one side of this base. Turn your unit over, and do the same thing. Fold the raw edges into the center crease to get your guiding creases. Now this time you may you may want to fold the triangle down this way, or you might not you don't need to. Lift up the top layer to that base, and fold the sides in; petal fold. You might have to reverse the top creases, and flatten, and you have your bird base."
