How to Make A Gourd Basket

"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Karen LoCasale and I'm here to tell you about gourd art. Gourd vassals and gourd bowls this is a little different variety of the gourd bowl this is basket. You can use it for putting in fresh flowers. If you put like a little plastic wood to a little container in there to hold your water or you can also use a little bit of tin foil. Certainly you can use your artificial flowers or embellish it however you would like to. We have painted it out a nice leather dye coloring. The inside if you would like you can also paint this inside, spray paint it, use your acrylic paint on it. Then you want to do a nice acrylic clear coat over to protect your coloring from fading and you would also want to make sure that you did a coating on the inside as well on your, especially on your bowls. If it is going to be used as a candy bowl or hold food you want to use a water base sealant to keep that gourd dust from continuing to come out and give that a nice seal and a nice finish for you. Something else to remember always once your product is done make sure that you sign the bottom of it and I always like to put the year that I done my product so I know when I actually did it. "
