"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Karen LoCasale, and I'm here to tell you about gourd art. Shadow Box. Another fun thing to do with shadow boxes, I personally am a Halloween officianado, it's one of my favorite holidays, so as you can see I've gone to the store and found bits and pieces and things that I can use to make my halloween gourd. We have the little plastic spiders, the ones you get on your rings. You just snap the little ring part off of them, glue those onto your gourd. You want to use Halloween appropriate coloured feathers and we have some creepy skeleton hands here. Little halloween scenes inside that I glued inside in here. A nice black colour to make that all stand out and be spooky. You can also add a little electric candle in the back to make a little flickering, give it that little extra spooky look. I've also glued spiders into the back and, again, in that particular case I left the inside of the gourd the lighter colour of the gourd itself, had the black spider back there and put the light in there so the spider really shone out. Halloween really gives you a lot of different options to play and just something for fun."
