"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Karen LoCasale and I'm here to tell you about crafting with gourds. These pieces here have been added with a simple glue gun. You can also use your utility glues, you can use two part epoxy, these where actually glued in using the liquid nails that your industrial type glues. So lots of different options for the glues as well. I would probably stay away from Elmer's glue, you would have to have it taped on here for it to dry so your hot glues and things would dry quicker are going to be better for things on your, you know the curved side of the gourd where they are not going to actually set on there. You are going to hold it and let that glue dry. In the case of the wires here and my feathers, the wires I did put in with a two part epoxy there is actually a hole drilled here, the wires inside there. I don't know if this is going to show but the glue is on the back here and the feather is the same way of actually a drilled holes into the gourd, in set the feather inside that hole. In this case I have used just your simple Elmer's wood glue and toothpick and get that glue in there, let it set up a little bit and a lot of times you have to come back and add some more as the glue starts drying. For your bigger feathers and the bigger hole if that doesn't work then again your two part epoxy works really well because it would kind of fill that hole a little better and hold it. For the mouth of this particular piece here this is just a piece of bamboo that has been cut and again I drilled a hole in there and use some files to get the bamboo to fit in there snuggly and just glue it. Made a little beaded necklace here so you know again possibilities here are limited only to your imagination and what you have around your house and what you can use. "
