"Hi I am Karina Fraley for Expert Village and I am showing you how to make a baby blanket. So we have selected our fabric, we have cut it and we have decided or I have decided how I am going to finish it. I am actually going to trim it by folding over the edges and actually just doing a straight stitch once it is done and it is going to give me a nice clean edge with the satin binding on the back that the babies love. There are two ways actually that you can accomplish this; you can either do a zig-zag stitch around the entire edge of the blanket and then just fold it over which is what we are going to do. You can also join the two faces together, the two right sides. So this is the right side of the fabric, the one that actually has the bolder pattern and then the back. On some of them you can see some of the pattern, but it is lighter. On here it is just neutral and then on this one it is the satin. The satin is the right side. So you can also put the faces together and then do the edging and then turn it inside. So basically you are just sewing it inside out and then you can turn it right side out and finish it that way. But I always prefer to do zig-zag with the fabric just as it is going be and then folding it over and then trimming it. So that is what I am going to show you to do next."
