Crafts are an important part of teaching children. They can improve a child's imagination, bolster and accelerate a child's creative development, and help them learn certain concepts in a fun and interesting way. Whether making hand turkeys from brown construction paper for thanksgiving, building the worlds largest popsicle stick sculpture, or just making a mess of construction paper scraps, crafts are a good way to keep the kids busy and help them learn and have fun.
In this free video series, our expert Katalin Toth will show you how to make a couple of air toys for children. She will show you how to make a toy parachute including drawing the form of the parachute, cutting it out, and gluing the strings. Katalin and her children will show you how to fold the parachute, tie the knot, and test it out. She will also teach you how to make a toy boat from popsicle sticks.
"Hi, I'm Katalin, the inventor of Creative English. This is my daughter, and this is my son. Hello, I'm Barbara, and this is my little brother, Arty. We are here on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we are going to show you a few games around air. We are going to start with a parachute that's going to be very interesting. First of all, I'm telling you what you will need for this art work. You will need a piece of tissue paper. Then you will need some colorful pencils. Then you will need some thread or wool, some sellotape, some glue, a pair of scissors, a matchbox, and a small object that is heavy enough to pull the matchbox down. You will see why we need it. And also we need a piece of white paper, and please protect your table with any cloths or paper that you will put under your glue."
