"Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. Here's a great gift you can send through the mail. It's a wind spiral and when you open it up it looks like this. When the wind blows it, it spins around. This is made with one strip of paper, a piece of cord and a ruler and that's all. And it's pretty interesting looking. So, what we're going to use is one strip of paper two inches wide. You'll need a piece of cord and a ruler. And we'll start by creasing our paper 3/4" all the way the down the strip of the paper. I am going to just eyeball it. You can go and measure it if you want to. You just measure 3/4" and then if you hold the straight edge of the ruler down firmly and then fold it up and rub against the ruler that will give you a nice crease. You continue this all the way down your piece of paper. You can use paper or card stock. If you use card stock, it's going to...the spiral will fold up a lot thicker. So, you want to think about that if you're going to be sending in an envelope. You want to how thick it's going to be. You can make the paper as long as you want. This is a 13" strip of paper. I would recommend using something a little bit longer than the 11" that you get from a regular size paper. And you can just glue or tape together two pieces to get a longer length. And we'll go down, all the way down measuring 3/4" sections and creasing...always creasing in the same direction like that, 3/4"."
