How to Make a Pop-Up Cootie Catcher: Part 3

"Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. For a kootie catcher you want to have one space that's blank, like this, and one space that is full of kooties. This is how we're going to color on it. You can color bugs or anything you think a kootie looks like. On the other side, on the flap side, you're going write kootie catcher on it , or any other fun design that you'd like to do. That's for the kootie catcher. For the fortune teller, on the flap side you want to put colors, or any other kind of words. You could even put names on there, and the way you play the game is that you say to the other person, pick a color. They pick blue, b..l..u..e., you spell the word out. You really could put any kind of words here that you like, and they could choose. Then you count out the letters, like that, and then on the inside you put numbers on each side of each point. Then underneath, you write your messages. You can be very creative with this. You can even make it an activity game, having them do some sort of an activity, like jump on your foot, or turn around three times, or sing a song, or say something nice to another person, or you could just give them silly fortunes. For the puppet, it's the same shape that we have here, the exact same thing that we did, but we're folding in each of the corners like this to give it a bit more of a rounded shape. Then we'll either glue or tape two of the sections together. I use a little bit of double stick tape, but glue will work also. You just put a little bit of tape in there. You might want to color your puppet before you stick it together; that may make it a little easier. Then you can put a face on there, or color in the mouth, as I have done. That's just kind of a fun little thing that can be packed flat, and then played with by the receiver. Those are three great toys that can be made from one paper fold."
