How to Sew a Dress for a Stuffed Animal

"Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we would fix up our dress section. The first thing we want to do is just finish the upper edge of the dress and we are just going to fold it down a quarter inch and top stitch it. Just along the top edge this diagonal cut area. So you can prepress this it makes the sewing a little bit easier if you want to prepress it. I'm just going to fold it as I go. Just fold it down a quarter of a inch and top stitching all the way around. That is just to finish the edge there. You can lift the foot and pivot it if you need to. When you come to the corner you flip it under and just finish that on the top. Now on just the front part of the dress I'm going to put a little ribbon trim there just to give it a little bit of a decorative look. I'm just going to flip that in and down a little. I'm going to sew right on the edge of the ribbon. I'm going to sew on both sides of the ribbon to secure it well. Go down one side and then on the other. (sewing) Fold under that edge of the ribbon and secure it with a few stitches. Even just trim all your threads as you go. "
