Step 1
Copy the URL to the YouTube video by right clicking the video and copying the shortcut, or copy the URL in the address bar of the browser (IE or Fiefox).

Download and run the free software TubeTilla. Paste the URL into the first field and click the "Get Video" button to the right.

Now you can modify the File name in the "Save as" field.

Step 4
In the "Convert Video" section, choose the format you wish to backup the video as. YouTube videos are downloaded as FLV files, you can either save it as an FLV or convert it to a playable format, like WMV for Windows Media Player or MP4 for the iPod / Zune.
