"We'll start by making a pattern for our hand mirror. I have the mirror that I as using for my hand mirror and I just going to trace that on a piece of construction paper. Now its kind of a free form mirror so I am first fold the paper in half. Matt folding the circle exactly in half so you will have to kind of look and see that you have joined exactly in half and all the way down to the bottom of the paper. Notice that I put the tracing of the mirror up here because were going to cut a handle down here. OK, so you fold it in half and our board is twelve inches long. So were going to make sure that we have the right length handle and just cut what you think will be a good handle. Were, there going to be a little bit bulbous on the end and then get a little bit narrower here and then cut around our mirror and because you don't want it to be an exact circle you want it to be sort of an oval shape we will come up a little closer this way. Now you can play around with this and if you don't like the shape you'll just fold it up and start again. Until you get a shape that you like. I am going to trim it in a little bit closer here and you can hold it and see if this is to wide and how it looks. I think I am going to make it a little bit more narrower in the holding section and bring it up like this and you just play with this until you get a pattern that you like and then you will trace it on to your board and we will be cutting this out with a jig saw. You can also take it to a lumber yard and see if they will cut it out for you."
