"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we have our bottom pinned on and we are going to sew it so on there now. Now you want to start on the trickiest part which is by the zipper. Now this zipper has teeth that can not sew over. Some zippers have a nylon sort of nylon tube teeth that you can sew over but this particular zipper you can not. So we would be sewing from as close as we can get. Then around the other side and then as close as we can get. So it is going to sew from here, from here all the way around. I think what I would do is use a zipper foot to start so I can get as close as possible to the zipper and then I will change to a regular foot to do the reminder of the sewing. Because the regular foot is easier to work with. So there is a lot of thickness here and a lot of pins here so you want to be very careful. You want to be using a heavy duty needle and work very slowly. You may want to just hand roll the needle down to sort of test out how difficult it is for the machine. I'm going horizontal with the zipper to just start and give a little reinforcement right beside the zipper before I turn to go around like this. I'm only going to sew about a inch worth before I change my foot. I just want to back up a little bit and now I want to change my foot to make the rest of the trip around because the zipper foot it is so narrow that it is not as stable as the regular foot. For this more difficult sewing you want a good stable foot. "
