Tying Sides Together for Two-Toned Ponchos

"Now we're going to mark the placement of the neck hole. First you want to find the center of the fringed edge. So just fold your fabric in half and put your finger right on the center and we'll place a pin right at the center. Now measure from that center mark out three and a half to four inches. And I'm putting my pins vertically so that you can differentiate them from the other pins. And that will mark our neck hole. So we'll have a seven inch neck hole. Now we're going to tie our fringe to join the two pieces of fabric, leaving the neck hole open. We're not going to tie the neck hole. Okay, we're going to do a simple square knot to tie our fringe. And you just want to go, hold the two pieces like this, and go light purple over dark purple and pull, pull tight, and then light purple over dark purple again, and pull it tight. Okay, continue all the way down the end of the, the poncho going light purple over dark purple and light purple over dark purple. When you get down to the end, you just turn the project over and again, starting at that marked neckline, you're going to tie the other side, all the way down to the end. This time I'm tying dark over light, dark over light, dark over light, dark over light. And go all the way down. You can see when you tie in a consistent fashion, all your ties line up."
