"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we have sewed up our zipper from the edge of the fabric, now I'm going to open it out like this and fold it back. You could press the fabric if your fabric is thicken and will not stay folded over this fabric is fine. We are going to top stitch along here it will give it extra strength and a nice finish look. So I'm just turning it over this way. You know top stitch about a quarter inch from the seam here or even a little closer if you want. Again I'm using the zipper foot and a regular straight stitch. Always start with a little bit of a backup to knot your threads. If you want you can repeat that so that you have moved another eight of a inch over then you will have a double stitch line. It is a nice top stitch look. So just trim your foot, so there you have it. Now we are going to sew the other side of the zipper to the other side of the backpack body in the same way. So first you want to pin the zipper in place right along the edge. Put that in place to hold it and then we would sew it down. "
