"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we are going to quilt the top flap and I will be placing our Velcro closure at the same time. So put the pocket together you can check on this side so you have a little more then a quarter inch of the pocket flap coming outside of the pocket itself. Hold it like that. Now we are going to put/cut a piece of Velcro that will fit under the flap and attach to the pocket. So I'm just going to eye it like that. We would cut our Velcro like that and open up the Velcro and we would slide that on to the pocket section in the front of the pocket section. Underneath the flap section like this you can pin that in place like that and now when we quilt our pocket flap. We are going to be sewing the Velcro in place at the same time. You want to be very careful not to let the needle hit the pin so you may even want to pin it on this side so you can see the pin and hold it place. I'm going to start by sewing the quarter inch all the way around the border and then I'm going to crazy quilt vertically like this. It will give it a interesting texture because we have horizontal lines on the pocket itself. Then we would have vertical lines on the flat. The vertical lines will catch the Velcro and hold that on as well. Now I have gone all the way around now I'm just going to crazy quilt vertically on my pocket flap. When you come up you can feel it that it is sewing through the Velcro there. Then feel for the other side coming down on the other side. Let me move my pin and then continue on and we have sewn our Velcro on like that. Now for the pocket front you could just sew around. Move that pin so it will not be in your way. Now our pocket front and our pocket flap are finished and they would have a nice Velcro closure."
