"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. To prepare the top section you want to take a piece of fabric and double it like this. We are going to measure a square six inches by eight inches. So I will start by cutting our fabric by the two pieces and I will measure from the side. Make sure the sides are lined up evenly eight inches. Mark it in at least two places and then take your ruler and join the two marks and then draw the line. Then from the bottom we would measure six inches, mark that also in two places and join the two marks with the ruler and draw a line. We would cut that out. You can put a pin to hold the two pieces together and makes it a little easier to cut it out. Now you want to fold that in half the long way. The bottom here is eight inches and we would fold that in half and measure from the fold one and three quarters inches. Place a mark at the top. One and three quarter inches from the fold and then take your ruler and place part of your ruler by the corner exactly on the corner and the other part at the mark that we made one and three quarter inches and draw a line. Like this. Now you can place a pin in here to hold all the pieces together and we are going to cut the four thickness of fabric along that diagonal line. You end up with two pieces that are shaped like a trapozide. "
