Finger Puppets: Dancer Head & Body

"These are the materials we'll need for our fun foam dancer finger puppet. You'll need some pink fun foam, a pink pipe cleaner, and a little pink feather. You'll need a little orange circle for the face, and a little bit of brown, or you can use any other color for hair. You'll need some permanent markers for details, and some sequins or beads or anything else you want to do to decorate your fun foam dancer. OK, let's start by cutting out our dancer's dress. And this is the shape that you'll be making. The top if you want you can cut out a heart, you can see that this part here is the top. But you do need to leave a little bit of a stem to attach the head. Then make a nice full skirt with a rounded bottom, so that our fingers can be placed inside here. When you've cut that out then you want to just place your fingers about where they would go in and push down nice and hard to indent the fun foam and mark it where our leg holes are going to be. You can fold that in half, and just cut out a little half circle to make the leg holes. There's one. And you want to make sure you don't cut the two holes too close together, that area might break, so you want to be careful with that. Cut your two circles, and make sure they are big enough to fit your fingers through. This one is a little bit small, I'm just going to trim it up a little. OK, when you have your holes cut now, we're going to put our fun foam dancer together. You'll need some nice thick craft glue, and put a little glue there, and we'll add our head. And then I've cut some hair, it will just sit on top. I've cut a little bun for her, and snipped in some little bangs. You can make the hair any way you want. You could even use other materials, other than the fun foam. You can use some curly craft hair, or yarn, anything you want. I like to use the fun foam like this. Now we'll draw some detail for the face. I'm going to use a black marker, and just make some little smiling eyes. You can just put little dots for eye lashes, like that. And than a dot in the middle for the eyes, or off to the side a bit, you can put the eyes. And a little orange for the nose...just make a little L shape for our nose. For the mouth, if you make just a tiny little M like that and then add a smile under it, it gives you a cute little mouth, and then you can just fill in those lips."
