Finger Puppets: Piggy Body

"These are the materials we'll be using to make our piggy felt finger puppet. You'll need some pink felt. You'll need a little bit of a contrasting color. Either white or I have some tan here. You'll need some googly eyes, a pink pipe cleaner. You'll need a couple of markers, permanent markers for drawing some added design. You'll need some thick tacky glue. Now we'll start by cutting our felt in this shape. You want kind of a moon shape. This is three inches by two inches wide. And you want to cut that with a rounded top, and then just put a bead of glue all the way around. Now you want to use a thick, tacky glue, a thick craft glue that will not soak into the felt. You don't want to use a regular white glue, because that will soak into the felt and make it difficult to work with. Now when you have your bead of glue around you see that it kind of sits on top of the felt. That's not soaking in. And you place the one on top of the other and just pat that down. Make sure that no glue gets into the center area because you won't be able to put your finger in. Next we're going to prepare the ears out of a one inch square. You want to cut two little circles. So if you take a one inch square and just round it off, you'll have these two circles, and put a dab of glue just on one sort of side, one little spot there on both of them. A little dab of glue, and then fold these circles in half like this. Now you might want to take a bottle, I have a bottle of glue here, or a glass or something just to weigh down those ears. And they can set there and dry while we are continuing with our little piggy. Next we're going to place the nose, and I've cut a small circle here, kind of a squashed circle. That's about a half inch circle, and just put his snout right there in the middle. Now we have some more rounded circles and those are going to be the piggy's fat chubby cheeks and you put a little bit of glue and place the cheeks a little bit above and to the side of the piggy's snout. Now we're going to prepare a squiggly tail."
