"For our baby ducks, we're going to make a little pattern like this. This is about an inch and a half wide and about two inches long. You can make it as big as you want, but you want to make sure that when the two pieces are put together that your finger will fit in there, and we're going to cut that out of yellow felt, just like the mommy. And then we'll make a beak just like we made for the mother duck. We'll just cut that out and have two layers here of the yellow felt. Now again, a half inch strip of the orange color and you just want to round out the top like this. You're going to trim it a little on the side too. And then fold that in half and that you're going to insert right where the beak should be, and pin that down and sew all the way around the edge, from here all the way around to here and that will be our little chicky. OK, now I've sewn around for our mother ducky, and I've also made five little baby chicks with their beaks and you see their sewn in. You can separate the beaks like that to give them a sort of a quacking mouth. Now we're going to put an eye on. You can put an eye on our chicks and the mother with a permanent marker and just draw a little black dot. That will work fine, or you can use a googly eye and you can put that on with glue. Now if you're, when you're gluing anything on felt you want to use a thick glue, not a regular white glue because a regular white glue will soak into the felt and go through both layers, so you don't want to glue anything on with a thin glue, you want to use a nice thick fast drying clear drying glue. Put on eye on for her. Now these are great to play with just like this, or if you want, you can add a little bit more fun to it by adding some of these feathers from a craft store, and again, you just put down some of this nice thick glue. Something that's not going to soak through the felt and place that on. That's cute for the mother duck. Also, you can use this colored feather boa. It gives a nice fluffy look, and this is great for those baby chicks. We'll put a little bit of plume on the head of this baby chick and you see that really really fluffs him up. We'll give him an eye and just finish that up with all your baby chicks, and then I'll show you how to, the little rhyme, and the little game that you play. It's a counting game with the family of ducks."
