"Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. I'm going to show you how to start the ears. We're going to take 2 ear pieces and make sure that the right sides are out, and we're going to stitch around with a white thread to give it a decorative look and a nice hand sewed look like this. Put your knot at the top and go about 1/4 inch in and just do stitches going around the edge all the way around the ear. You don't need to pull these so tight and don't worry if they're uneven. It just gives it a nice homemade look. Go all the way around that ear. We're just sewing the 2 pieces together and we're using white thread. Now, if you don't like the white thread around there, you can always use a dark thread, or if you prefer you could even do on this one they made just a single ear. That's just a cut piece of fabric that isn't sewed on the edge and it's a single ear. You can do that if you want. I like this way with the ears stitched around. Just go all the way around the ear and then we'll end it with an ending knot on the edge. So when you get to here, this is the front and our knot that's the back. We'll go around to the back part. I'm just going to catch the end of those threads like that. There's my loop. I'm going to pull that loop out and I get another loop and pull that loop. I'll just do it twice. Now I made a mess. If you make a mess just pull it out. There we go. That's one ear, and now you'll repeat it with the second ear so you'll have 2 the same."
