"Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Our first step will be to draw our basic doggy pattern. Here is a basic doggy pattern. You want to see if you can draw it. I'm going to give you some measurements to help you. Along here is about 5 inches. From head to toe is 5 1/2 inches. The legs are about an inch 1/2 wide, and the tail is about 3/4 inch wide. The snout is about an inch and a 1/4 at the end it get gradually larger. If you want to know this measurement is an inch and 3/4, and from the tip of the nose to the beginning of the neck is about 3 1/2 inches. You can just draw that out the best you can. It doesn't have to be exactly what I have here. Just something close to that. Now I'm going to show you how to make the bottom leg section. We'll start by folding our dog pattern in half. It's approximately half. This line is going to be this measurement here. That will be where the leg section joins. You want to make sure there's enough of a neck there, and that's going to be that section and enough of the tail end here. We're making this piece right here. It looks like the letter I. That's the bottom leg section. This is what you do . You fold that in half and you get a portion that looks like that. I'm going to fold another piece of paper in half and place the half doggy inside and then trace looking through what I already have. Trace the legs like this. I missed a little on the belly here. Then pull that out. Then you can cut this out. Because we made it from the drawing of our original doggy pattern, we'll know that it'll match up exactly when we go to put the legs on. It just sort of goes like that. Little feet. That's what it looks like. I'll show you how to make the ear pattern. Just take a small piece of paper and hold it up to your doggy pattern. You're just going to draw her an ear any shape you like. It looks like a good doggy ear. That's it. Next, I'll show you how to make the bottom leg section."
