You want it to have a smooth exterior, you want it to be nice and smooth all the way down and all the way up. You also want to avoid soft and wilted carrots, you want to make sure that when you push on it it pushes back, you want to make sure that it's not wilted. Also you want to make sure there's no slits anywhere, you want to make sure your carrot is whole, no holes or no slits. Now this guy is going to ensure you get a good carrot every single time. Also I recommend you buy in the isle that has individual carrots, you can pick your own, you don't have to worry about getting a bag and half of the bag is bad and half the bag is good.
