"Hi everybody, my name is J and I'm talking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are working with garlic and I'm going to teach you how to pick your garlic at the local grocery store. Now first of all with your garlic you want it to be nice and dry all the way around. You want it the have the encase skin, you want it to be completely tight all the way around each cloves just like this one. You don't want there to be any cracks or slits. You don't want there to be any type of black or brown around here and you don't want any type of black or brown around the end part and no green either. Now, a garlic should have no odor, so if you smell it it should not smell like anything. Now this is an example of a bad garlic cause you can tell the difference. Black powder residue, black on the front, cracks all the way around it. This is something you want to avoid at your local grocery store. Also you want keep your garlic in a nice dry place when you are storing. You definitely do not want to store this inside of your refrigerator. Now basically garlic can be kept for a long time if you keep it in a nice dry area. Of course garlic do come in different types of shapes; there's the elephant garlic which are bigger bulbs and there is just different types of garlics. But the same methods that I showed you today should apply to any type of garlic you buy. So, happy picking and I'll talk to you in the next segment, thank you."
