JEANNETTE WHITE: Hi. I'm Jeannette White for Expert Village, and today, we're going to talk about changing a blade in a rotary cutter. This is a question I get asked all the time here at the store so I'm going to show you how to do this. The first thing you're going to do is, of course, buy a new blade. Now, make sure that it's the right size. And it'll come in a little container like this and you want to make sure that you save that. Now, on your rotary cutter, you will see you have a screw side and washer side. So, you're going to undo your screw, and I always lay things out in the same order that I took them off so that when I can put it back together, I just go in the reverse order. So, the screw goes here. And then, we're going to lift this washer off and you'll see it's cupped. You can see that right here. It's got kind of a dish to it. So, we want to lay it just the way it came off. Lift off the handle. Take off the old blade. Be careful not to cut yourself, and this is very important. Be sure and put it back into the little container the new one came in. New blade goes on, handle goes on, washer is--you'll see that this has two flat sides right here. You want to line the washer up with that, and the dish on the washer goes up. Then, you're going to take the screw and you'll see you'll have a recessed area right there on that screw and a flat. The recessed goes on first, tighten it up, put your guard up, and you have a new blade.
