"Hi! I’m Jennifer on behalf of expertvillage.com. A Perfect Fit Alterations, 102 S. Main Street, Burleson, Texas, 817-447-3522. Today the notion we’re going to discuss in this clip is ribbon. This project that we’ve picked is a vest and this ribbon is used as a decorative part of the front of the vest. There are several different types of ribbon and ribbon comes in different widths, you have craft ribbon and you have ribbon that is washable. You want to be sure that you use the washable ribbon because you wouldn’t want to put craft ribbon on a project that you’re going to wash, craft ribbon generally is used for making flowers, used on wedding decorations, things like that, not used for things intended for washing. On this vest, the ribbon is used for covering the seams and decorating the front of the vest, you can use laces with your ribbons as well. When you cut your ribbon be sure and cut your ribbon at an angle if you’re using it for decorating the front of a garment because the ribbon will fray, you can either do that or use fray check to secure the edges.
