"Hi! I’m Jennifer on behalf of expertvillage.com. A Perfect Fit Alterations, 102 S. Main Street, Burleson, Texas, 817-447-3522 and in this segment we’re going to talk about pins. We have several different types of pins here on our card, we have some quilting pins which are considerably longer, sometimes when you’re quilting you’re going through several layers of fabric, so you want a pin that’s going to go all the way through and come back through the other side. These are typically plastic headed pins and you don’t want to iron them because the tops will melt. You have some silk pins which the tips of the pins are quite sharp, if you don’t use a sharp pin when you’re working on silk and some nylon fabrics, you’re going to put a run in the fabric, so you want to make sure you’re using the appropriate pin. These are typically glass head pins, so once you’ve put your project together you can iron over the top of this pin with no problem and you won’t melt the head of the pin. You have some pins here that don’t have any color on the top, we use these typically in alterations and then you have some shorter pins here, usually are used for craft projects and those are our pins.
