"Hi! I’m Jennifer on behalf of expertvillage.com. A Perfect Fit Alterations, 102 S. Main Street, Burleson, Texas, 817-447-3522. Today in this clip we’re going to talk about interfacing. Interfacing comes in fusible and non-fusible, the non-fusible you would sew in, the fusible can be activated by an iron, you put heat to, it has little bumps on the side, put the bumpy side down, the iron on the back and it will stick to almost all fabrics. Generally you would use this for jacket and coat fronts where you put in buttons to make your buttonholes, it stiffens the fabric so that the fabric is not sliding and moving around, it makes it a lot easier. It also is used in collars and necklines, a detail instruction sheet will be given to you when you purchase some fusible or non-fusible interfacing. Another little handy tip, you can also use interfacing when you’re repairing holes in alterations, it can be used the fusible can be used for holding the fabric together while you sew over the top of the hole.
