Series Summary

The zigzag pattern is made up of repeating small corners, arranged in acute angles. The angles function between two parallel lines and form a regular pattern that is used often in sewing and stitching. In sewing, a zigzag stitch is obtained using a sewing machine, and give the impression that the thread has been embroidered. Tightly spaced zigzag stitches can be used on satin stitches and are most frequently used for button holes. Sewing patterns, prints, patches and decorative layers to clothing and fabrics is also popular, and the neatly arranged zigzags can add a certain flair to otherwise boring patterns.

In this free instructional video clip series, our seamstress and expert tailor will demonstrate the zigzag stitch with her sewing machine and teach you how to stitch patterns and elegant zigzags on your fabrics. Learn how to apply patterns and stitch border, and how to use the zigzag pattern to repair blue jeans, t-shirts and more.
