"It's Jerimae Yoder with Expert Village and today I'm talking about performing solo. As far as marketing goes there are a lot of things you can do marketing wise to further your career as a solo artist. Marketing goes a little bit further than even merchandising is getting your name out there, create a logo or have a logo created for you. My logo is pretty simple it's Jerimae Yoder it's my name so it's a J and it's a Y with a little plug at the end of it in a circle. And the plug basically people goes what's the plug for? Well I play acoustic guitar right, but I use a lot of loop stations, drum machines kind of plugged in all also, so that's what the plug stands for, it's kind of a plug in acoustic kind of thing. So find a logo and put it on everything that you do everything that you send out, everything that you have, get posters together for your shows. Put them up everywhere people go into that town give them to the venue but don't leave it to the venue to give these posters out. You got to create your own buzz you got to get to doing that, create a street team myspace is doing some really cool stuff right now where there creating there own street teams, through myspace with a brilliant marketing idea. Cause they already have all these people on myspace you know it's like it's so easy to think about doing these things but actually doing them is a whole different deal. To create a street team you have to build a good relationships, you have to know some people the people that are most excited about your music are the people that you want to be on your street team. And the street team are people who just get your word out about who you are and what you do."
