"Hey this is Jerimae Yoder with Expert Village today I'm talking about solo performing so you picked your right song you know what songs you want to play. It's time to make a set list a set list is basically those songs that your going to play in order, its really easy for solo artist to get away without putting a set list together and just go by the top of this head and playing them out. But I'm telling you right now you get into a situation where you forget the next song you we're going to play and a lot of times if your not thinking through songs your going to play as your playing them. Or if you don't have them written out the next song that you play may not be a good one it might not be the right place for that song. So for instance before you play the day before you go out and play before you even rehearse for that set go ahead start writing down the songs. Start writing down, what are your best songs, your hottest songs that you have the most impact songs that you have. Bring people into it hit them with another one that they may be a little familiar with and then slam them with one of your songs, give them something that they can really think about. Something thats going to be really high energy to start off your show, but again know your venue if your going into a coffee house and it's going to be a laid back kind of deal. Maybe you want to start off with a slow song or a real intriguing song that kind of brings people in, because the quieter you sing and sometimes even the quieter you play when people are starting to listen. They will come in closer they will come in more if you can draw them in, you can look them in the eye and bring them into what your doing. Don't be afraid about looking at people in the eye when your on stage make sure you communicating and contacting people. "
