Christensen began keeping a book of photographs in new devices called sheet protectors. By 1980, she had assembled over 50 of these books and was asked to display them at the World Conference on Records in Salt Lake City. Since then the door of scrapbooking has been opened and flooded by people wanting to find unique ways to remember their pasts and experiences.

"I'm Jessica Cane and I am showing you a few different ideas if you're thinking about Scrapbooking. Today we are exploring many different options whenever you want to Scrapbook if you're on a low budget or not a budget at all and depending upon how much time you have to donate to the scrapbook making we're giving a bunch of ideas. So some of the basic supplies that you'll need when doing Scrapbooking, definitely you're going to need some glue and I like the rubber cement it works really good. You can also use glue sticks and you'll probably need hot glue because that dries a little bit quicker especially if you're using like sequins or rhinestones or anything so be sure you have plenty of glue sticks and a good glue gun and you'll definitely need that. You will need scissors you can use regular scissors as well as the fancy edged scissors because those can sometimes, they look nice but they get jammed up a little bit so you'll need some real scissors just to be sure for all your simple cutting."
