on 9/4/2008 Very good pointer, about the benefits of water after a massage session. I'm not a big water drinker (unfortunately), but your reasons make sense so I'd better step up the H2O! Thanks!

"Hello my name is Jinilee Reavis and I'm a massage therapist here at Veronika's Color Salon and Spa and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. Toxins build up on our body from just our normal body what we eat where leftover that our body can't process. To process it, it just floats in your body and what happens especially it clings on to things in our body. It tension areas knots are one of the main things that tension forms up. So that is why not only when you touch a area that is tight it also hurts because the toxins are build around that so you have the muscles that are already tighten and you have the tension that is build around it. So when we do Swedish massage or any other technique massage that we apply we are able to stretch that muscles and it releases the toxins. So that is why it is very beneficial for after the massage to drink water cause water helps your muscles as far as the healing process and it flushes out the toxins so afterwards you don't feel groggy and sick to your stomach with the toxins floating around. So that is why massage therapist recommends drinking water afterwards cause it is very beneficial for you. "
