"Hello, on behalf of Expert Village. My name is Joe, I own The Vug local jeweler in Salt Lake City. I'm going to talk about jewelry cleaning and maintenance. When jewelry needs to be cleaned. Generally with jewelry with stones in them, this is a nice clean clear Aqua Marine. When it's dirty, it will be foggy and you can kind of see perfume or soap scum or whatever on the back of the stone. Basically the simplest way to clean stones is just hot water and a toothbrush. If you can get behind the stone and scrub it, that's great. Generally, white gold and yellow gold don't tarnish. They do scratch and you can take it to your jeweler and have the scratches polished out. Silver on the other hand can get very tarnished. The best way to polish silver is to use a chemical cleaner like Tarnex or something. Or simply just a soft cloth and just rub the silver real well until it gets a bright shiny surface."
