Picking A Necklace Wire for Making Recycled Jewelry

In this free video series, our expert Joe Maughan will show you how to make alternative jewelry from recycled parts. He will show you how to pick and trim necklace wire, beads, and charms. He will show you how to pick, use, and sand the Dremel tool. Joe will then teach you how to thread the wire, attach the clasp, tie the center knot, and measure, connect, and assemble the recycled jewelry.

"Hi, I'm Jason. On behalf of Expert Village, today I'm going to make a beaded necklace out of some of the things I've found. So, first I'm going to go through some of the stuff I've found today, and sort of show you where I get my ideas from. People just give me things all the time, so, this is what people have given me over the last week or two. I've got a razor blade, some pieces of plastic, a few little skull beads, looks like we've got a machete here, a piece of clay that has already been cooked. So, I go through and I see what items, here I got and then what wire I can find. This wire is too thick, I like something that is not all that colorful, that I can twist and bend and all that, so, I'll use this piece of white wire I found today. And I'll show you how to assemble and make all the things for the necklace."
