How to Place Your Fingers for the Magic Pen Trick

"And Glen Dolf is going to teach us the placement of the fingers and. The angle that the pen should be. It's very important when you first pick up the pen (yes) and it's placed right here, can you see that? Ok so these two fingers are holding it. These two fingers. And then this one. And then the thumb comes right on top. But it shouldn't be too far away from it because I was making that mistake. Exactly see and that's where you are over rotating and under rotating is going to come into play. If you place it, I use this as a guide, kind of this little seam right here on my index finger. Ok, ok. And then the thumb is placed over it and that will give you plenty of room to do that exact (oh yeah) half rotation, you see that? If feels way more comfortable so put the pen right there on this line right here on this finger and then put the other finger up and then put this one the thumb on top. That is the perfect placement. Now let's talk about the angle of the pen. Ok. Obviously if you had the angle, if you have the pen sticking straight out, in other words you're parallel to the floor, it'll look ok to you, but you have to remember you're doing this to a spectator. And so you want to angle it down so that they can see it better. Ok. I'll give you an example, I'll turn this way to you and can you see it? Yes. It's not as good. Yeah no, it's kind of crooked too. Now if, it's going to be a little uncomfortable on your wrist (ok) but you're thinking about the spectator and you want them to see the whole show. And so this is the angle that you want to start out with and here is the angle you want to end up with. And now it's counter clockwise, that's very important because sometimes we tend to go the other way and it has nowhere to go. Right ok, so the angle, here is the angle and there is the placement. If you remember those two things this will be a great looking trick. So angle of the pen and placement of the fingers that is very important for the pen trick.
