"Grace: Hi, welcome back to Expert Village. I'm your host, Grace Fraga, with arts and crafts and everything fun. And I'm having a lot of fun with my guest, Sonya Shepherd, from The Crop Circle, because she's teaching us how to salvage your old scrapbook. Sonya: That's right, Grace. We've gotten the photos out of the old albums. We're saving the photos. Now we need to get them into something that is photo safe. And you really have two options at this point. You can store your photos in a storage case, or you can scrapbook them. But you need to make sure you're using materials that are archival quality--the acid-free, the lignin-free. You don't want any more damage to your photos. Grace: Really. Sonya: So this is a great case, and holds about two thousand photos and memorabilia. Get you a good shot here. What's really nice is, again, all the materials are safe. Grace: Acid-free. Sonya: And you just put your photos in here, chronologically or by event--however you're going to scrapbook. You use the little divider tabs to write down what's happening, and then you're ready to scrapbook when you have the time. Of course, you can start the scrapbooking process right away. You can put them in a book like this one. The album's going to be archival, the pages, the page protectors, all the embellishments. You can put those in the book. So these are a way to take older photos and really give them a place of honor and showcase them rather creatively and safely. Grace: Nice. So they're going to be safe forever. Sonya: Safe forever. Grace: They can go from generation to generation. Sonya: Absolutely. Grace: Not a scratch on them. That's great. So, what are we learning next? Sonya: Well, next we're going to go just through some other little techniques for use for archival quality scrapbooking and salvaging your old albums. Grace: Great. This is an extensive subject. Sonya: We're really trying. Grace: Wow! I didn't know it was that complicated. Sonya: A lot you can do. Grace: Just unglue your picture. That's what I thought it was. I'm like, "Wow!" Fifteen episodes of this. Sonya: Yeah. Grace: So stay tuned for our next episode on how to salvage your scrapbook."
