"Hi. Welcome back to Expert Village "Arts and Crafts and Everything fun". And today my guest, Sonya, from The Crop Circle, is going to teach us how to scrapbook. So, what is the next step that we need to do? Well, the next step, Grace, is that you really want to make sure that you include text in your scrapbook. You need to make sure that you are writing the names of the people involved. You want to capture the story, and you want to have it titled something fun and catchy that you can really capture attention with. So, I've got an example here of a way that I incorporated journaling into my scrapbook. This was a very significant period in my family's history, because my father was diagnosed with cancer, and this was a Christmas that we were going through that we didn't think that we would have together. I don't have even a lot of photos of it, but it was a really important time in our lives. So, not only did I choose paper that sort of reflected the love and the commitment we had to one another as a family, but I chose to journal about it. I made a little mini-book in here, that actually opened up with a hinge, that I just talked about how scary it was, and how as a fourteen year old I thought that this was a Christmas we were going to have without our dad and that he was there with us and how special it really was. So you want to make sure that you're re really capturing that emotion with your written word. A lot of people, you know, they save that for last and then they never get around to doing it. Right. And a lot of people are even afraid to use their own handwriting, and I would say your handwriting is a part of who you are. You use your handwriting to talk about what is happening in your photos, and you connect a little personality to it. It's great. So, it really is a storytelling tool to express yourself. Absolutely. Because you're putting the emotions in it. Exactly. Great. So, go ahead and story tell. Make sure you're journaling. Make sure you're writing in your scrapbook. Definitely. And what is coming up next? Next, we're going to just talk about a couple more ways to journal, and of some wrapping up tips. Great. That's coming up next."
