"Hi. We're back at Expert Village. You're watching "Arts and Crafts and Everything Fun" and I'm your host Grace Fraga. And Sylvia Shepherd from the "Crop Circle", is teaching us how to embellish our scrapbooks. Well the next thing that you can try to do with your scrapbooks is you can actually sand them, give them a little bit of an aged, distressed look with a sanding block. ("Nice"). So it's a lot of fun, you can use this on pretty much any material from the papers, to the chipboard, to really anything you want to do. What you do is just give it a good little (sanding) you know sand here, right on the edges. You can see it's started to turn a little bit white, a little distressed, you can even go a little bit more on the surface of it. Scratch it up a little bit, it just gives it that not so out-of-the-box look. Yeah exactly, not so polished and perfect look. ("Exactly"). Can I try? Absolutely, go for it. Let me see if I can do this. If you don't have a sanding block at home, you can use a good old-fashioned emery board. ("Oh really"). Uh huh, absolutely. After you do your nails you can do this. This is fun! Give yourself a scrapbook manicure. (Laughing) And so you can do this to use, so there you go. It looks pretty messed up doesn't it? Pretty messed up, but it's a look. And then we can tape it? Right, you would use your glue dots again. Our good old, good old fun the glue dot. Yes, I see. I just put one there. Okay. And always be, opp, ("opp"), that was was actually easier. That one cooperated with you. Yes, and you know what I'm going to do this, this is going to be a flower stem. Oh like a little bit of a stem. Yeah, let's see like that. Well, kind of. (laughing) They're fine, it?s abstract. Yeah it is, (laughing) right. This is very abstract, yeah, the abstract flower with the button in the middle. So, that was it for sanding. That's it for sanding. We can just achieve an aged look with a little sand block or an emery board. A very simple sand block, exactly. Fabulous, that's great. So what's coming up next? Rub-ons is our next technique. Whoo, stayed tuned for that."
