"Hi, welcome back to Expert Village. I'm your host, Grace Fraga and we're learning all about scrapbooking. Actually, embellishing scrapbooking, right Sonya? Absolutely, all the different things you can do to just make your layouts pop. Today we're going to look at the distress ink. This is a product from Jim Holtz. It's an ink that's been specially formulated to really make products look like they're aged. It's a style technique. Some people want their scrapbooks to look super-modern, some of them want them to look a little bit vintage. This is if you are looking for the vintage sort of look. So it's a specially formulated ink; this is my favorite color walnut stain. And it's acid- free. And it's acid free! We can't stress the importance of using acid-free materials. Remember, always acid-free. So what you're going to do, you took the lid off of your ink pad. It's kind of a funky shape. Just a regular square, most ink pads are rectangle. Anyhow, you're just going to sort of brush this on. Oh, how fun! Like this it's going to give you a little bit of edging. If you feather it a little bit more you are going to get some smudge marks there, and that's a really fun look on your scrapbooks. So I'm just keep smudging a little bit. Nice! And this is distress ink. It makes the paper look distressed. How much fun! Let me try a little bit. Okay, you try that. If I can do it, again, you guys can do it. Absolutely. Let's see. It's too neat, isn't it? I need to like, there! That's it! You just angle, exactly, angle the pad a little bit more if you want kind of a broader look. Oh, I see. Oh, there you go. Exactly. Beautiful, so that was distress ink? That's distress ink. Another way to embellish your scrapbook. And what's coming up next? Chip board. Ooh, stay tuned."
