" I am Heather McCanna on behalf of expertvillage.com and today I will be discussing some card making basics. In this segment I'm going to be showing you how to make a pop up image card. There are two types of pop up cards. We would be discussing the second type in a later segment. For any type of pop up card it is really important that you have a very sturdy card stop paper as you would be making a pop up flap which would need to be able to hold objects and stay sturdy with many opening and closings. For this card I'm going to fold it in half, and make it into a vertical card so I would be opening it from the side. The first step into making a pop up image card is to take some scissors and when the card is folded you are going to cut along the folded edge making 2 parallel slits. Make sure they are ½ to a 1 inch wide two make for a sturdy pop up brace. After this you would open up the card and find the fold and the cuts that you just made. Using your finger on the back of the fold push the cuts forward, making the pop up raise. Once you done this it is important to pull this flap forward with your finger while closing the card to make a sturdy fold. This chose you that the pop up which we later support our image that we are going to chose base on the card recipient. "
