"Hi, I'm Erica Lane with Expert Village talking about how to write a Christmas song on the guitar. When writing your Christmas song you are going to want to experiment with three or four different chords to start out with. When I just want to write a really basic song that is pretty simple I'm going to go with about three or four chords. A very popular chord that you can play is G you might want to start with G, then move to D, then back possibly to G, move to C, then to G. That chord of progression includes the one four five basic chordal progression, that is your basic progression that is taught in elementary circumstances. So if you need to start out some where I would suggest starting out with one four five progression. One being G, four being C, five being D you put those together and that's your one four five progression."
