"Hi, I’m Faith, I’m here at Flat Fork Studio and I’m going to show you how to glue your mosaic pieces down to your final piece. And at this point I would use a thinset- a premixed thinset- and it comes from the hardware store already mixed. And I like to use these little plastic trowels- look, there’s already one in here- it has these little grooves in it, which you want to use. I use, not the smallest grooves, but I kind of like to use the medium size grooves. You reach in, grab a glop, and start spreading it onto your surface. These grooves that are in this trowel and are now in this mud here- this thinset- kind of allows the air to get in between the spaces here so it dries thoroughly. So you kind of want to do an even pattern, put an even amount of glue on- it’s ok to be a little bit messy. Once you’re done with putting your glue on, then you can start laying your pieces down, like so. You press it in, and twist it a little bit, and now your piece is set. And that is how you adhere your mosaic pattern to your finished product"
