"Hi! I’m Fran and I want to show you how to rubber stamp using colored pencils. When you use colored pencils on stamping you want to get colored pencils that say water colored pencils to get the effect that you need, any craft store will have several different kinds of brands. You want to take your stamp, just do your basic ink pad stamp and then use your colored pencils to color in and it doesn’t have to be real exact, you can color in getting the image, you can do a little bit darker around for some shading to get the effect that you need like on the rose maybe do a little bit darker to get a little bit more of a rose effect and that’s going to end up giving you a effect that looks like this, those are just three flip flops that have all been colored in using the colored pencils. With the colored pencils you can also do what’s sort of like a water color effect and that is taking a stamp like this, using your ink pad stamping it down and then get your colored pencils, you want to color in, it doesn’t have to be exact but you might want to do it darker around the edges and this one like the stamp where it shows sort of a three tone effect here, I’m also going to do a little bit of green in the middle, get a little bit lighter and then you can either use a paintbrush with some water or what’s called the blender pen. A blender pen already comes with liquid in there and you use that, it’s got water in it and as you can see it will color in the colored pencils and give you a nice sort of water colored effect and blend it together and that will end up giving you the effect that looks like this for a nice card and that is using the water colored pencil technique. on 3/29/2009 I have done this to make a special card for my mother. It was pretty simple and creative. I don't draw well yet so the stamps work for me.5*
